BLUEPRINT FOR A BRILLIANT ACT
Take your creative cabaret ideas from page to stage.
So you've got a great idea for a cabaret routine, but you're at a bit of a loss how to realize it on the stage, or maybe the idea is well formed, but the thought of putting it in front of an audience scares the c**p out of you! Perhaps you've been brave enough to try your new idea out, but it's just not as good as you believe it could be. As creative cabaret professionals we've all been there... I know I have. Blueprint For a Brilliant Act aims to give you the confidence to turn your ideas, dreams and visions into a successful and bookable act.
In this one day intensive cabaret routine development workshop you will learn:
Tips, tricks and concepts for easily unlocking and developing your creativity;
A better understanding of what makes cabaret routines really work;
How to give and receive group generated positive feedback in a supportive atmosphere (participants will be asked to circulate ideas to the rest of the workshop);
How to set personal goals and discover resources that will help you develop your act in front of a live audience.
I've been a comedy, cabaret and street theatre creative professional for nearly three decades and I can help you to improve your work, and leave the workshop with a solid framework for creating an act with the wow factor.
"Mike really talks about your own needs as a performer. Everyone talks about what you should do, but he talks about what you could do, and he's usually spot on. He's given me some great pithy advice, that has really given me the confidence to create my own work."
Gary Michaels (Comedian/street performer)
"Mike's advice and support has been invaluable to me. What I love is that he really considers who I am as a performer, and goes deeply into what my performing character actually is. Most people suggest things to me that I don't see my character being able to do at all. Mike looks beyond that. His knowledge and experience have really helped me to find my own creative voice."
Sara Twister (Cabaret and circus performer)
"Mike is a great confidence builder. He nurtures you as a performer and his advice is invaluable".
Felicity Footloose (Cabaret and circus performer)
